And I ran into a very good teacher from Iran during a meditation retreat with Northwest Vipassana Center last year. Recently I read Emily Esfahani Smith’s book The Power of Meaning, on how we can find grace and meaning in a world that is full of suffering, an international bestseller that has been translated into 16 different languages. She came from Iranian immigration family who holds the sufi tradition of regular mediation meeting and prayers. I highly recommend it.

On one hand, they denounced ferocity of Holocaust during the WWII, on other hand, they exaggerated their suffering as the only victims of the war. This biased lens of viewpoint tend to cause narrow-minded self inflation for reparation. But Gaza genocide of Palestinian shows Israel’s Jews are capable to cruelty themselves.
